Three Principles for Entrepreneurial Leadership

Spinelii and Adams (2012) claim that effective entrepreneurs are intrinsically motivated, high-energy leaders who can tolerate ambiguity, mitigate risk, effectively commercialise, and innovate. These leaders  identify and pursue opportunities by marshalling the diverse resources required to develop new markets and engage the inevitable competition. They speak of three principles for entrepreneurial leadership as listed below:

  • The need for achievement
  • The need for power
  • The need for affiliation

Doesn’t this also describe that handful of salespeople who are at the very top of their profession?
